AIR BAG SYSTEM CONNECTOR FUNCTION
BME081000000T03
Misdeployment Prevention Function
Short bar (inside of the air bag module and the clock spring)
- • As soon as the connector is disconnected, two terminals of the connector are shorted to prevent electric potential difference from occurring and static electricity from flowing to the inflator.

Warning Function
Short bar (inside the SAS unit connector)
- • When the SAS unit connector is connected, the terminals and the short bar are separated by the separator inside the SAS unit.
- • When the SAS unit connector is disconnected, the terminals and the short bar are short-circuited. Electricity flows to ground, and the air bag system warning light comes on.

Poor connection detector bar
- • The poor connection detector bar inside the SAS unit connector detects the poor connection of the SAS unit connector.
- • The poor connection detector circuit in the SAS unit measures the resistance between the poor connection detector bar terminals. When it detects there is on continuity between the poor connection detector bar terminal, the poor connection detector circuit determines there is a poor connection and indicates that the DTC should be output.
